I am a coach for a wrestling team just north of Boston. I wanted to send an invitation out to the high school wrestling community in NY. We are looking for a few more teams to fill a 16 team tourney on 12/15/07. I wanted to post this or have your readers be able to take a look and get in touch with me if they are interested. Burnt Hills High School, (Section 2 – Albany Area) is looking to add four “quality teams” to our annual Lee Van Slyke Memorial Tournament on Saturday, December 15, 2007. This is a traditional style individual tournament with awards given to the top six individuals, and top two teams. The Schenectady invitational (section 2) is accepting teams for its annual traditional style tournament held on Saturday 1/5/08. This is nicely run tournament with a good mix of teams and competition. The 2007 teams reigned from section 2, 3, 7, 9 and out of state teams from Massachusetts and Maine. There will be individual and team awards for 1^st thru 4^th place as well as MOW and best finals match. The first 12 teams to reply will have an opportunity to participate. West Springfield HS, is looking to add 1 team to its annual Dual Meet Tournament to be held on Sat. 01/12/2008, due to a recent with drawl. This is a 12 team dual meet tournament, run in a team pool format. 4 duals are guaranteed, with an additional JV round. The 2007 tournament ran very smoothly and concluded by 6:30PM. $225.00 entry fee. Teams entered thus far this season are: Fulton NY (NY State Runner up ’07, Sect 3 Champs), Niskayuna NY (Sect. 2), North Andover (’06 Mass. DII State Champs), Springfield Central (’07 Mass. D1 State Finalists), Noble Maine (Mane State Champs ’98-’06), Southington CT (top 5 Ct), Toll Gate RI (top 5 RI), Franklin, Ma. (’07 D2 State Finalists), Agawam Ma, West Springfield Ma (D1 West Runner-Up), Chicopee Comp. Ma. Edgemont HS (Section 1) is looking for both Division I and Division II teams for the 26th Annual Edgemont Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 19, 2008. This traditionally formatted bracketed tournament features a good mix of Division I and Division II teams from Sections 1 and 9, Connecticut and both Private and Catholic Schools.
